CONTEST!

Ok guys, so I'm feeling like we all need a little something to shake things up a bit and get us re-motivated!

I think this draught calls for a....PHOTO CONTEST!!

So, here's the deal- I want you to post a pic from EVERY workout you do this week- whatever that pic may look like- the silly uncoordination of a dance video, maybe just the dvd cover of the workout you did, maybe a picture of the scenery from your workout, maybe a picture of your nifty new workout shoes, maybe the picture of your sweet workout set up, maybe the inspiring quote on your water bottle- whatever you want as long as it is from your workout.  Here's the kicker- at least 2 (TWO) of the pictures must have you IN the picture (don't worry these can be sweaty, cell phone camera, self shots if they need to be)! :)  Try to upload as you go but if that is too hard, just make sure they are all in by Sunday.

At the end of the week I want everybody to look at the pictures and send an email to mamon.lynn@gmail.com with who you think should win.

The prize?  Why of course!  A $5.00 Starbucks card, to treat yourself to a special drink after all of your hard work AND a Lululemon water bottle that has a handle and pocket for credit card, ID, etc. to keep you well hydrated while on the go- now if that isn't motivating- I don't know what is!! ;)

You are all awesome! Keep it up!  Getting closer to our six week goal mark, how are your goals coming?  Are you proud of where you have come?  I am proud of you all!

Good luck!!

Hugs!!

Be Nice to Your Trainers

HAHAHA, ok maybe we don't have trainers, but this made me laugh out loud.  (literally)

Brenda:)

Here are some pictures from my run, well lets be real... jog! Hannah and I had a great afternoon/evening jog at Alki in the rain and I hate to admit it but it was actually kind of fun even though running with a stroller is harder than running alone but it was fun to have a cute little smile to keep me going too! She is actually helping, or trying to help, me right this too! Oh, I love her! :) Anyway, it is a great evening and hope everyone else is enjoying the week!

 Rainy day at Alki!

All smiles:)

And she enjoyed some spaghetti while we were eating dinner!!!

A new week.

Thankful for a new week!  Last week was not a great week for me- had a hard time staying motivated.  We had snowy, cold weather and then the flu hit our house- first Hannah, next me, and then Michael- it was AWFUL!  Glad that we are all on the mend and that means NO MORE EXCUSES!! :)
Starting this week off good!  Down a total of 3.5 lbs since Jan 1st- which isn't much but feels like a small victory to me.  We also started this week off with 2 kick-your-butt workouts and some ab work! SOOO hard but worth it when the scale starts showing it.

So proud of all of you that keep me going- I think I would've quit 2 days into this whole challenge if I didn't have all of you motivating and pushing me- so THANK YOU!!

Going to stay positive and motivated this week!
Happy Monday!

Zane & Anna

It's been rough out here you guys.  I am SO ashamed.

I'm not even going to try to offer up any lame excuses.   I just plain & simply got a bit discouraged these past couple weeks.

The only "workouts" I really got in were at work.

I know, i know that sounds incredibly lame, but we are actually doing some renovations at Banana Republic which include installing wood flooring... which means... moving wardrobers/clothing fixtures/mannequins/wooden mannequin platforms/big tall mirrors in metal frames... (all of which are very heavy) on a nightly basis.  It's shocking how heavy clothing is in bulk.  So the few nights that I had to close I worked up quite a sweat.

Also I am apart of our shipment team which includes unloading boxes that can weigh (up to) 30-pounds so that is also very sweat-worthy, as we are urged to *rush* if you will.  That only counted for a couple mornings tho.

The good news is that I got back on track on saturday evening with a good-paced run around the neighborhood.  I left around twilight, so it got dark rather quick, and my imagination went into overdrive + I saw some sketchy people milling around... so I basically was quite motivated to run as fast as my legs would carry me.

And then tonight.... *drumroll please...* I actually got Zane & his cousin Tony onboard and we did a 1.7 mile loop-run, which was a much quicker pace than I would normally push myself alone so I really appreciated the motivation from them.  And then we did a 40-minutes abs + arms workout.  Feeling like rockstars!!!!

I have been sooooo proud of all you while I was busy being terrible.  I loved reading about everyones efforts... you are inspiring me to not just give up!!!!!!!!!!

The LiaBraatens

Ok, another week down. I am feeling exhausted tonight and am so glad that I did zumba this morning and I don't have to workout tonight! I did six workouts this week. I skipped last Sunday and then did zumba for the Wii each day, except for Thursday when I rode on the recumbent bike. Brent said he did six workouts this week, all on the bike. It is so cold and wet here right now that there was no way we were heading out for a walk at the park with the kids. I hope each of you are surviving the snow and cold of January!

Linda & Neil

Well, since everything is either closed or cancelled (including meeting tonight), I dug out a DVD that Brenda bought that's been hiding in my drawer for a long time (& I know it's been a long time because there was a coupon in it that expired June '09).  It was Jillian Michaels "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism" DVD.  It was a good workout and I liked the format (I guess you'd say) of it.  It was 5 minutes warm-up, 40 minutes cardio and 5 minute cool down.  Anyway, we were both sweating and it was a nice change for variety.    Hope you're all doing good!!!!

PAM - What Was I Thinking???

Monday morning is our weigh-in morning, so I got on the scale and was so HAPPY to see the scale the lowest it has been in a really l-o-n-g time.  I thought the scale was broken, so I stepped on it again, and it was the exact same number.  Yay!  So, what do I do, I go to the store and get the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookie dough truffles...is that about the dumbest thing you've ever heard in your life?  I made them.  The only good thing about them is that they're eggless so you can't get salmonella from them!  What was I thinking???  I was kind of mad at myself for doing that, so I went to the gym last night and worked extra hard on the elliptical machine...40 minutes at level 10.  UGH!  Why do I sabotage myself like that?

Donna :)

Hi all!  Sure nice to read all your posts.  They really keep me going.  And, Pam, yours are not any more boring than mine!  I love to sign in and just see how everyone is doing - good or bad - as I'm sure we will all have times of both.

My week so far -- Sunday we walked on the treadmill for 40 minutes.  Monday was 45 minutes of the 2nd 30 Minute 2 Mile Walk DVD and tonight we did 35 minutes of the first 30 Minute 2 Mile Walk DVD.  So far so good this week.

I have managed to drink my water every day.

I feel so much better when I get my exercise in.  Especially mentally.  Physically is still ify!  My legs are still pretty stiff and sore.  But we are increasing our time slowly....  I'm glad I have JJ to push me!

Thanks all for keeping me motivated!

Checking In

Hey, I just want to thank everyone for keeping me inspired :)  though I haven't done much inspiring :(   Harv & I did walking and wallyball last week ---- we were counting on wallyball tonight but thanks to snow that MIGHT come the place is closing early -- BOOOO!!!  (I hear Donna & Jaime laughing at us).  Anyway, we'll have to figure out plan B quickly and do something ----- I'm thinking maybe some one handed push-ups like Hannah!!! (sad truth is I can't do a full, true, straight push-up two handed -- push-ups and pull-ups are an enemy to be conquered --- eventually!!!)

Keep on moving & posting!!!!   Linda

The LiaBraatens

Hello again! Brent and I had a good week this week and added some variety to our workouts as well. I did six workouts that consisted of walking two days and zumba on the Wii the other four days. I am getting slightly better coordinated, although not much, and even convinced my sister to join me one day for zumba while the cousins ran circles around us! Brent went walking two days and used the recumbent bike four days. I am counting the week from Sunday to Saturday, so we start new today. It was a busy day (we had to play in the snow and make a trip to pick up Brent from the airport!) so no workout today so far. Brent is off from school tomorrow, so maybe we will pull a double!!!
By the way, Brent is Marianne's second cousin (her grandma Alice Marie and his grandma ArLeeta are sisters). We live in southwest Washington, about three hours south of Marianne. We have two kiddos, Brynn is 3 and a half and Lane is 14 months. We just wish we got to see those second cousins of ours more than a few times a year!
Keep up the great work everyone! I read in a magazine this week that experts recommend at least 150 minutes of exercise a week. That would be five 30 minute workouts - and we are trying to accomplish six each week. That is not much more! Way to go us for getting in our recommended amount of exercise!

Brenda:)

Hello everyone! Hope y'all had a wonderful week, I know I certainly did!!!

I did a little of everything this week for working out which I love, that way I don't get bored and it is just fun to be able to do many different things! I went swimming, did water aerobics, did running circuits with strength training, ran 3 miles straight (60 laps around the little tiny track at the Y... ah!) and played wallyball and although that doesn't add up to 7, I did do them multiple times to get in all my workouts for the week!
I also love working out with a friend and although it doesn't always work out, but this week I got to work out a lot with a friend so that kept it fun and interesting as well! Last Sunday, Neil and I went for a 2 mile run outside, we were a little over half way through when a dog started chasing me, barking and nipping at my heels.  Now, I like dogs, but I have always been scared of anything (including dogs) when they chase me and especially when I don't know who the dog belongs to. Anyway, I got a little scared... So I turned around, stuck my hand out and yelled "STOP" at him (twice)... I must have been pretty scary because the dog stopped in his tracks and didn't move another inch.  Needless to say, I was pretty proud of myself for not screaming and running like a crazy girl haha ;)
I have been doing pretty well on the water goal, but could do better as well! And I'll try working on getting a picture or something up too sometime!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week! Keep up the amazingness! :)

No Excuses - Donna

Hi all!  I didn't have the best week last week.....  I did not exercise Thursday or Friday.  I have no GOOD excuse so will leave it at that.  Saturday I did 60 minutes of Aqua Zumba and was in the water for a total of 90 minutes.

This week WILL be better!

Donna

Hi all.  I'm sure missing everyone's posts!!

Tonight JJ and I tried another new video.  Another Dancing with the Stars.  This one is with Cheryl and Maksim.  It was again very hard and a REAL workout.  My calves are burning!  But I think we did a little bit better than the first one!

Hope you are all doing well!

Donna's Check In

I missed checking in last night so will do both nights together tonight.

Yesterday (Monday) JJ and I decided to switch things up and try a new DVD.  Don't know if any of you watch Dancing With the Stars??  Well, this DVD is Julianne Hough from that show. She is also a singer.  The DVD is cardio ballroom.  One thing I know (like JJ said today to some co-workers) that we are pretty sure that we could be on America's Funniest Vidoes rather than Dancing With the Stars!!!!  It was quite comical.  But even with only doing about 1/4 of the steps, we still got a workout!  Struggled with that for 12 minutes of lessons to learn the steps (warm-up) and 35 minutes of comedy.

Tonight we decided to give Mom a break from laughing so hard and walked around Centennial Lake again.  It was a beautiful day out today.  In the 50's here.  It was nice walking - just started to get cool when we were getting done.  Same as before - warm up and cool down walking to the lake and then 32 minutes around the lake.

So far, I have been able to get all my water in every day.  Tomorrow morning is weigh in.  I'm anxious and yet scared too to get on that scale.  Anna, I keep thinking of your project and keep thinking I need to do that so I don't dread the scale like I do now!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Donna

Like JJ said we walked around the lake tonight.  That was a great change!  Was a little cool, but beautiful for the 8th of January in MN.   They even had part of the lake roped off  because the ice was too thin.  Wish I had a picture to post of Jaime, but hers were all too dark.  So instead I just found this.  Hope everyone has another successful week!

Starting out the week...

Mom and I started out the week with a nice brisk walk around Centennial Lakes.  It was a beautiful evening, perfect for walking outdoors this time of year!  We both love Centennial Lakes - it's very pretty!  It is all lit up at night with twinkle lights everywhere and there were lots of kids and adults ice skating up and down the lake.  We walked the 1.43 miles in about 32 minutes and then had the warm up and cool down walking to and from mom's place to the entrance about a block from mom's.

We will try to get better pics next time.  It was really too dark to get good pics of the lakes.  Hope everyone has a fabulous week!!!  :)

Love you guys!

The LiaBraatens

Erika and Brent are checking in for the first time! We are loving all of the posts and comments! This has been so motivating already. Both of us accomplished 6 workouts this week and we only hope that we can keep it up!
Brent started with "speed leaf raking", or so we will call it. Two days of that, three days of running (took the kids to the park with the jogging stroller and gave mom a much needed break!) and one day on the bike.
Erika broke in the new Zumba for the Wii this week. All 6 workouts on Zumba just trying to figure out all of the steps! So glad to do that part without any onlookers (besides Brynn age 3 and Lane age 1 who think it is all pretty funny). Doing okay on the goal of drinking more water but could do better.
It is feeling great to get some exercise in! There is definitely no way we would have done so much this week if it weren't for our love for a challenge and some good competition.

Donna Saturday Work Out

Did my last work out for the week tonight.  Worked out to the 30 minute 2 mile walk DVD again.  So happy that I did 7 workouts this week!   I know that coming weeks will be hard to keep it up, but with all your help will hopefully stay with it.  I'm so motivated right now --  I WANT TO MAKE THIS WORK!!

So looking forward to looking and feeling better!

Donna

Hi all!

Friday I worked out to the 30 minute walk.  JJ was out with friends and I was soooo tempted to take the night off, but happy to say that I did not.  I felt so good (mentally not physically!) that I didn't give in!

This morning JJ and I went to Aqua Zumba.  This is my, by far, favorite way to work out.  I could do that every day.  We were in the water from 10:20 until 11:30 and I was not ready to quit.  There is a girl that goes to regular Zumba and this morning was her first time for Aqua Zumba.  She said it is a different work out.  So someday, I will get brave and do a regular Zumba also.  For now, I'm enjoying the Aqua.

Plan on doing another work out later today to make up for Tuesday that I missed.

Again, thanks all for helping keep me motivated.

Jaime Jo

Finally Checking in...

It's been a loooong week.  But I managed to get in 5 workouts so far and plan on one more tonight.  I'm so happy to have you guys to turn to for support!  I also have my best friend who is also working hard on losing weight.  She has committed to 4 work outs a week and is making sure I am sticking to my goal as well!

Sunday and Monday mom and I did the 30 minute walk-off-the-pounds video.  Tuesday was a rough day.  I had to go back to work and start our 'Month-end' process of getting all the bills ready to be sent out.  I let the stress get to me and decided to take the day off from working out!  Luckily I have you guys and my best friend.  Kristin texted me several times on Wednesday to make sure I got my work out in.  :)  Mom and I did the video again and it felt good to work off the stress from the work-day instead of letting myself be lazy.  Thursday we decided to change things up and walked on the treadmills for 35 mins.  I decided to take Friday off as well, to spend some much-needed time with friends but was excited to get up this morning and do an hour of Aqua Zumba.  I love it!  It's a great workout and I find myself smiling throughout the whole workout.  The hour flies by!

I'm feeling good.  My muscles are sore, but it's a rewarding feeling.  Can't wait for my scale to start rewarding me as well!!  :)

Fun project?

I saw this idea on etsy.com  But I think you could probably do it yourself huh?   Perhaps some fun on a rainy day?:)
(xo, a)

Anna checks in

Thursday-
I tried a 'stress relief' dvd for 30-minutes.  It was mostly breathing techniques & stretching.  Bummer.

Friday-
Round two of 60-minutes of power pilates aka "piloxing"  Ouch.  Viveca Jensen, you are one crazy lady!!!!

Looking into the mirror & having one of *those* moments.
Encouraged by this...

Saturday-
Dr. Oz informed me that if you eat every 3-hours (not full meals of course) that you will keep the 'i'm-hungry-hormones' away, and as a result won't overeat.  Might try that today.

Lacking a wee bit of motivation.... i'll get back to y'all on the workout.

Today

Went and got my massage after work - oh man did that feel good!  Then did 35 minutes on the treadmill.  I don't know if it was the massage or if my muscles are getting better, but it was much easier today.  That means I will have to step it up another notch!!  Did I really say that????

Sorry no pictures yet......

Pam's Tuesday...What a Day!

We hiked to the "tower" across from our house (thus, the sore calves)...along with walking the dogs prior to going to the TOP!  Its a beautiful view at top but a big puff going up.  I woke up in the morning and didn't want to miss Zumba, so caught the morning class, then Tom and I got in a 50 minute "hike" and then that evening I went to Yoga for 1.25 hours!  Oh, did I say, I woke up with a migraine that morning.  Thank you Imitrex, I couldn't live without you!!!  It was 72 degrees yesterday.  Great AZ weather!  Pam

Donna's Check In

Hi all.  I missed checking in yesterday, but enjoyed reading everyone's posts tonight.  Anna I know exactly how you feel!!  It is so encouraging and motivating to read all your posts!

I fell off the wagon yesterday.  I'm sorry to say that I let the 1000 excuses like extra long, hard first back-to-work day, long lines at the grocery store, getting a late supper, headache, sore throat, and then just being too tired and sore to get myself back up out of the chair to do anything but help Mom to bed and crawl in bed myself.   But.... I jumped back on tonight and did a 40 minute workout to the next level on JJ's exercise DVD.  I'm still really sore and legs keep cramping, but also really happy that I worked out tonight and didn't give in again to my natural impulses that have me in the shape I'm in.

Weighed in today and I'm down a pound from Sunday.  Wish it were more, but I'll take it.

Tomorrow I get a MUCH needed massage!  Can't wait!!

Night all -- love you guys!

Anna & Zane check-in

Well we had our first failure in 2012 with yesterday's workout being a 'no-show.'  (Wah wah wahhhhh).

I could say that it was because it was 30-something degrees outside...

Or that I took a 160-mile road-trip to the Jacksonville airport to drop Cindy off...

Or that it was the last night we had with Zane's Dad, so we stuffed our faces with fish & watched football instead.

Any sympathy here?  No?  Ok.

Well we made up for it today with a 60-minute POWER PILATES dvd.  YAYYYY!  As I said on FB, Hello endorphins!!!!  I can barely type because my muscle feel like jelly.

It was split into three segments, arms, butts & thighs, and abs.  Zane did not participate during the butts & thighs segment, but the poor guy is fighting the start of a cold, so we're going to let this one slide.

I promise you we were yelling unpretty things at the tv screen, and we had to modify an embarrasing # of the exercises, but whatevs.  That is hardly the point.

Our muscles feel overworked and underpaid.

And that my friends, is exaaacctly the point.

Hump Day.

How's everyone feeling?  I feel like today is the hardest day- it's hump day and I can't wait to be able to see the light of Friday!  We have Michael's brother with us until tonight at 11pm, I don't get home until close to 6:30 and leave for mtg at 7:00--aaahh! It's gonna be tough- but I am NOT gonna let this day beat me- I WILL workout! :)  I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

So we currently have 14 participants! Yay!  Our latest member is Julia- everyone say "Hi, Julia!" :)
There, don't you just feel so welcome now, Julia? :) :)

I don't want any of you to ever feel shy or silly about posting- we all want encouragement, or to help encourage you, to give ideas, to laugh with you, to cry with you, or just be silly and random with you!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week and that workouts are a daily success!

Hugs!

Wallyball :)

1hr 10-20min of wallyball at the Y was our workout both yesterday and today!!! It's a fun way to get a workout ---Yeah for vacation!!!!

I love the posts - everyone is off to such a great start!!!!

Type in 'discipline' in the search box at www.pinterest.com.  So many motivational quotes!!!!

Anna's day#2

I didn't quite post in time so this was supposed to be for yesterday's workout!

I got up & ran another 3-miles, this time beneath the morning sunshine- and without stopping!!!!

I think it's good for me to work out in the morning when i'm still in that half-sleepy state- that way I won't talk myself out of it;)

On that note- today, i have to wait til this afternoon to do today's workout because Zane promised a 'joint-workout' after he gets off work (& his first for 2012!) so send lots of motivation our way please;)

The first mile-and-a-half I felt like I was going to be able to run forever.  It felt really good.  But those good feelings came crashing down on the last mile.   I was still able to shave off 2 minutes from my time on sunday.  I was hoping for more, but it's easier to pace yourself on a treadmill.  At least I kept running tho!!!

It's been good for me to be aware of the thought that when I really really want to quit, just consciously thinking... "is it because I literally can't breathe, and taking another step will kill me, or is it because I just want to quit???"  So far my answer has been the latter, so onward I go.

I'm not dieting persay (yet!) but I am trying to make consciously smart choices... like not snacking on tootsie rolls at work.  A small victory, hee hee

Happy tuesday, y'all!!!

p.s. raise your hand if you're sore!!!!!

Good mood

Thank you, Pinterest!  (xoxo, Anna)

Monday, January 2, 2012

Oh ya!

Wheeee! This is fun!! So today was one of those days that it would've been sooo easy to skip out on. It's raining and super windy, haven't eaten since breakfast, very tired, with a grumpy baby who is teething, Bachelor is back on and I can't wait to see it, wallyball to sit at, football to watch, etc, etc- the excuses could go on and on. BUT instead of using those excuses we got our bikes attached to the trainer and went to town! It was a great 35 min workout!
We had one of our bikes attached to the trainer while the other person played wii and Hannah was highly entertained to sit in her exersaucer and watch us sweat!
It felt so good! I can't even believe the difference it makes in my perspective and outlook on life in general. By the time we had both finished our workouts we were 1.5 hrs in and felt like we couldn't have had a more fun, productive, good feeling evening!

Glad we all have each other to help us stay on track!!!! Go "Team Get-Fitters"!! :)

<3, Marianne

EXERCISE

Well Marianne, you ol' rascal
You've now started a real fiascal
I can tell by the rules you are young and more able,
As I have become older and thus less stable.
But that's alright, exercising I'll be
Cause with age I have more trouble with each calorie
I'm going to go ahead and send money for your purse
When I'm tired and weary i'll think of you and might curse!
As I get my money out and ready to depart
i guess it'll be better than becoming like an old stale K-Mart!
Now I have no illusions the prize to win
But that won't keep me dreamin' about cashing in
The goal for six weeks if I must reveal
Is to eat less and less meal after meal
I'm also thinking of getting up out of bed
To get up and get moving a little poundage to shed.
Now if I succeed and a picture I have to take
It surely won't be in a Speedo for pity sake!
Now happy exercising and good luck to all,
Maybe some will have a new look this coming fall!

Donna :-)

I am so enjoying everyone's posts!

I did another round of the 30 minute 2 mile walk DVD.  It was a little bit easier than yesterday, but still hard.  But I know that each day will get a little easier.  I'm just so happy for the encouragement of you all and the motivation that I get from you!

I drank my water earlier today so hopefully tonight will be better than last night.  It is back to work tomorrow!

I hope I am doing this right - another first!

Goals - Brenda:)

I absolutely loved this and thought I would share:
Persistence - "There is no GIANT step that does it, it is a lot of LITTLE steps."

I know I am a little behind the game, but I was trying to think of what I wanted to do for my six week goals:
- I want to drink 64oz of water each day.
- And, I want to run a 5k... And actually run all of it!

I was sick yesterday, so I didn't get a workout in, but today I feel wonderful and had a great workout of some intense wallyball this morning!

Sorry I don't have any fun picture to post with this, but I love reading everyone's posts and cannot wait to continue hearing about wonderful adventures! And, I do think that Tom should post some of this poetry for all of us to enjoy! :)

Y'all are super motivating and I am so excited for everyone to kick butt this year!!! hugs:)

Dare You To Move.

So proud of you all! We're committed to this and we are going to be successful!!
Michael and I went down to Alki and did a good 45 min brisk walk, last night.  It was cold but we quickly warmed up.  It was so beautiful- makes me wonder why it takes me so long to get into the rhythm of working out.  Now, I am really looking forward to today's workout...bring on the sore muscles because after all isn't it something like 'no pain, no gain'? :)
There are a couple of things that I got consistently asked questions about so I want to get a few things cleared up.  First of all, as you guys let me know that you have worked out I have a spread sheet that I am keeping track in.  There are 13 of us participating- an awesome turnout!! Second, There is no panic on turning your $ in- but when you do just send it to 900 N 127th St, Seattle, Wa 98133.  This is the shop address and we are going to keep the money locked up there. Thirdly, it is okay to do more than one heart raised 30- min workout per day- this way it can help you if you are sick or too busy on certain days.  However, you may NOT exceed 7 workouts in a week.  If you don't get 7 one week that is ok, strive for success the following week (and success does not necessarily look like working out 7 days- success is whatever you consider it)!  Fourth and final thing, everyone look in your email inbox- I'm going to be sending some info regarding the blog so that you can all participate and add your two cents! :)

I am so proud of you all! We have ambitious goals but I know that each one of them is attainable- we just have to keep striving and push past the "why-did-I-sign-up-for-this" moments!

You all rock!! Keep going!!! Here's to a happy 2012 and a healthier you!
Hugs to you all!

Anna's six-week goal

I'm just catching up on 'The Official Get-Fit Rules" & I was supposed to make a six-week goal last week.  Oops:(  Maybe it should be to learn not to procrastinate.  But then I would be setting myself up for failure no doubt.

Love reading all your goals, and your first efforts!  I'm already inspired:)

I think my first goal is going to be to run five-miles.

And to drink more water.

(<-------------------At least two of these a day).

And get a minimum of 8-hours of sleep/night.

Today I did my first work-out for 2012!!!!  I ran a 5k in 39-minutes on the treadmill at Cindy's condo.  I'm not super proud of my efforts, but I am happy with running 3.1 miles!  I wasn't able to run the whole time.  I would guess about 10-minutes was spent walking.  I'm NOT a runner, I actually hate it.

When I wanted to quit I realized that it wasn't because I was out of air, it was because I was uncomfortable.   Not crampy-uncomfortable... just "i'd-rather-be-sitting-on-the-couch-eating- chocolate-uncomfortable."   So here's to pushing past those feelings!!!

Zane chose to not work out today.  Instead he established his 'pro' status in Wii bowling.  Cool.
